My Story
A journey shaped by education,
perseverance, and opportunity.
From India to the United States
I grew up in India with a strong interest in mathematics and science, but with limited
access to some of the educational opportunities I wanted. Those early experiences taught
me the importance of opportunity and how access to education can influence the direction
of a student’s life.
I pursued engineering in India and later came to the United States in 2001 to continue
my graduate education. During a financially difficult period in my studies, receiving a
scholarship gave me the opportunity to continue my education. That experience stayed
with me and strengthened my belief that the right opportunity, provided at the right time,
can make a lasting difference in someone’s life.
As I built my career in technology, I began thinking about how I could use my own success
to create opportunities for others. Inspired by Warren Buffett’s commitment to
philanthropy, I founded Parusha Foundation in 2019.
Since founding the foundation, I have personally funded its work using my own earnings,
supporting STEM opportunities for students, STEM teacher grants, technology resources
for schools, and STEM educational programs.
But my commitment goes beyond what I have contributed so far. My long-term commitment
is to dedicate my life, time, and earnings to creating opportunities for students.
I don’t want this foundation to simply be something I support. I want this mission
to be a defining purpose of my life.
What began with STEM has grown into a broader vision — Opportunity for Every Student
— bringing people together around education in all areas and student mental well-being.
